Alife & Mitzy Adventure

A Book By Michelle Boden

About Alfie and Mitzy
This delightful book is about an unlikely couple who develop a friendship: a hamster and a pony.
The book teaches children not to be prejudiced and helps develop confidence to be themselves.
When Alfie goes on an adventure, he gets lost. He meets a pony called Mitzy sitting alone in a field. Mitzy is unhappy because she has just lost her best friend, Roxy, and feels very lonely. At this moment, she feels she will be alone forever.
Alfie surprises Mitzy, and in her surprise, she realises that Alfie needs comfort and support just as much as she does. Alfie is in trouble, and she feels the need to help. Mitzy looks out for Alfie and learns she needs to keep herself safe too. Alfie learns he shouldn't have run off and gone on an adventure alone. Alfie and Mitzy are supportive of each other.
This engaging story provides opportunities to discuss the outside world with a gripping storyline. It is illustrated with beautiful pictures and contains text that captures the reader's imagination. At the end of the story, the characters realize they live on the same farm and have the same owner. They discover they are not just friends but part of a family

CREATING MOMENTS READING, CREATES MEMORIES
Meet The Author

I’m an artist and children’s author from Lancashire, nestled between Formby and Southport in the UK. Many years ago, I visited a farm in the Cotswolds and painted a pony from a photograph I’d taken there.
That painting stayed with me, and from it, the characters Alfie and Mitzy were born, opening the door to a world of storytelling I never imagined I’d truly step into.
As a mother of two grown children, I fondly remember reading to them when they were small. I would act out all the characters' voices, making them giggle with delight. In those moments, I dreamed of writing children’s books, but never quite believed I would.
Now, with four wonderful grandchildren of my own, I feel inspired to share stories that bring joy, laughter, and comfort to children everywhere.
I hope that, through this story, children can find happiness, even if just for a moment. That they feel safe to dream, free to imagine, and lifted away from life’s worries. Because every child deserves a chance to hold onto their childhood, to smile, to laugh and to believe in a brighter, more magical world.
